MEDIA SCHEDULER

MEDIA SCHEDULER is a compact, task-scheduling tool designed to automate specific MEDIA JUKEBOX actions. It can be used as a timer to start and stop the playback of files and to record events.

Opening MEDIA SCHEDULER
MEDIA SCHEDULER is not accessible through MEDIA JUKEBOX. You must select Start>Programs>MEDIA JUKEBOX 6.0>MEDIA SCHEDULER. An icon will then appear in the Windows Systems Tray. Double-click to open.

Playback
To begin, make sure the "Enable Task Scheduler" box in MEDIA SCHEDULER is checked. Since MEDIA SCHEDULER is designed to open MEDIA JUKEBOX and play the file(s) last listed in "Playing Now," you must first:

1) Make sure "Start playing current playlist" (Settings>Options>Start-up Settings) is selected in MEDIA JUKEBOX.
2) Make sure the files(s) you want to schedule for playback are, indeed, listed in "Playing Now." The easiest way to ensure this is to begin playing the file(s) you want to schedule for playback, click stop, and close MEDIA JUKEBOX.

To double-check that the right file(s) are scheduled for playback, open MEDIA JUKEBOX. It should automatically begin playing the list of files that you just designated. MEDIA JUKEBOX does not need to be open for a scheduled playback task to run. MEDIA SCHEDULER will automatically open MEDIA JUKEBOX at the set start time.

Scheduling a single playback session.

To schedule a playback session repeatedly throughout the course of a week, select the Add Periodic Task button. Itıs a great way to use MEDIA JUKEBOX as an alarm clock. Open MEDIA SCHEDULER and select "Add Periodic Task." The Action window should read "Start MEDIA JUKEBOX." If it doesnıt, select this phrase from the drop-down menu. First, select a start time for this periodic playback. Then select duration (in minutes). Now choose which days you would like the periodic playback to occur. Clicking on "Custom" lets you select/deselect particular days. Click "OK." The periodic playback task you just scheduled will appear in the "Periodic Task List" window. Right-clicking on this task allows you to schedule another task, or edit, delete or deactivate/activate the selected one.

Recording
Using MEDIA SCHEDULER for recording is a great way to capture streaming events you canıt watch live. Before you schedule a recording session, you must set your recording options. Open MEDIA JUKEBOX, select Settings>Options>Recorder Settings. Now:

1) Choose a Recording Source, most likely being "Line-In."
2) Select a Recording Volume by sliding the volume bar to the left or to the right. To allow MEDIA JUKEBOX to determine the best volume setting for you, click "Auto" and follow the directions.
3) If you are going to split tracks, make sure the "Split tracks" button is checked and set the "Minimum gap between tracks," the "Maximum gap level," and the "Minimum track length." Click "OK." MEDIA JUKEBOX does not need to be open for a scheduled playback task to run.

MEDIA SCHEDULER will automatically open MEDIA JUKEBOX at the set recording time.

Scheduling a single recording session

Open MEDIA SCHEDULER and click on "Add One-Time Task." Now select "Start Recording" from the Action drop-down menu. Select the Start and Stop times and dates described in "Scheduling a single playback session" above. The Recording Source is determined by the current setting in MEDIA JUKEBOX. For example, if you have selected "Line-in" in MEDIA JUKEBOX, MEDIA SCHEDULER will display "Line-In" (Media Jukeboxıs default). You can also type in the Artist and Album Names before you begin recording. Click "OK." The recording task you just scheduled will appear in the "One-Time Task List" window. Right-clicking on this recording task allows you to schedule another task, or edit or delete the selected one. Recorded files are saved to the recording destination you have selected in MEDIA JUKEBOX. (Settings>Options>File Naming & Location)

Associations MEDIA SCHEDULER also provides a quick way to designate which file types you want MEDIA JUKEBOX to play. Right-click on the MEDIA SCHEDULER icon on the Windows System Tray and select "Edit File Associations." Deselect/select file types by clicking on the box to the left of each file. MEDIA JUKEBOX will play those file types with a red checkmark next to them. You can also set MEDIA JUKEBOX to check and reclaim file associations every __ minutes.

If you install other players after installing MEDIA JUKEBOX, you may notice that certain file types that MEDIA JUKEBOX used to play are now played by other players. MEDIA SCHEDULER provides a quick way to reclaim those files that you had initially set MEDIA JUKEBOX to play.

Right-click on the MEDIA SCHEDULER icon on the Windows System Tray and select "Reclaim File Associations." Now, all those file types you had designated MEDIA JUKEBOX to play, (but might have been claimed by subsequently installed players), will once again be associated with MEDIA JUKEBOX.
